Project information
Katherine is situated at the southern terminus of the Darwin-Katherine Interconnected System. This is a critical point in the electricity network that serves the majority of the Northern Territory's population. The solar project spans over 70 hectares, featuring solar panels equipped with single-axis tracking technology designed to enhance energy yield. To connect this solar farm to the existing infrastructure, a short, low-voltage feeder links the project to the nearby Katherine substation, which is conveniently situated adjacent to the Katherine Power Station.
Status
This solar farm was constructed and commenced operations in 2020.
